Thanks for the reply (after I figured out it was a generic post in a thread on a different subject) I’ll be sure to keep it clear of anything else just for you folks and keep it brief, but still provide the detail you requested. Two things though: 1) When printing I dialed in the specific settings for each job as directed by Fuji’s tech and 2) when I initially used the Service Adjustment Program to purge the printer it reset (as in, it started with a completely new sequence of steps) I did the above, selected reset settings, then cancelled it, sent it off on its way and reset it about 30 minutes later. It seemed to work fine then, with no warning of anything bad coming. I may not have gotten as clean as I would have wanted, but I can’t be sure without an ink/filter change. If the inks didn’t change color (or if the dye colors changed from preset to preset) that would have been a problem.
We are very excited to hear about the ‘in use’ monitor capabilities of this printer, and since the biggest issue was once again the cost (and ability to change) ink cartridges we are seeking alternative options that will not only provide us with more ink in the long-term but allow us to change ink quickly and easily. We also have investigated the ATA (*1) and found that it would not be compatible with our existing L1800. That unfortunately leaves the Epson service agreement as our only option for ordering/swapping ink, and we do not have any ink(*2) available at our distribution facility. We have investigated the’refillable’ cartridges (*3) available through our distributor but either were not available at the time with our smaller cartridge capacity or The prices were significantly higher. I am working on finding out more information regarding the refillable cartridges and hopefully we will be able to more readily obtain them in our area.
